Key Points About the 50K Free Night Marriott Certificates

Marriott free night certificates expire 1 year from when they are awarded – so have a plan for them
Marriott allows you to “top off” certificates with UP to 15K Marriott points – making these certificates valid for award nights UP TO 65K points/night IF you have the Marriott points to add
These can NOT be used as points (ie TWO 50K certificates do NOT equal 100K points)
You will NOT get the 5th night free when booking with certificates (this offer is only valid when booking with points/night – book 4 nights with points, get the 5th night free)
Marriott free night certificates can only be used on award rooms labeled “redemption”, NOT on rooms labeled “redemption with points upgrade”. Which equates to them not being able to be used on suites or special view rooms most times.

Select flexible dates. Choose 1 night. So that you can see pricing for EACH night.

Several years ago, we used the 50K free night certificates to book us a room AND my dad a room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes over Christmas. This was SUCH a treat for all of us. My dad absolutely loved the hotel. They had a life size gingerbread, carolers in the lobby and incredible customer service all around.

And then last year we were there over the Thanksgiving holiday using 2 of our 50K free night certificates. The weather was perfection!

While I would never have paid the $1000/night the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes usually goes for, using the 50K Marriott free night certificate there was a wonderful use!
