Emirates A380 Business Class Review
Recently my family flew Emirates business class from Toronto to Dubai. This was our 2nd time flying their A380 in business class. We previously flew the Milan – NYC route in 2022.
Booking Emirates business class
There are 2 planes that have Emirates business class from US to Europe. Those flights start at 87K one way when booked through Emirates. BUT sometimes you can find roundtrip for 141K points. The other way to book Emirates award flights (and usually much better points redemption) is via Air Canada/Aeroplan. The routes available from US to Europe are:
- A380 to/from NYC (JFK) and Milan (MXP)
- 777 to/from Newark (EWR) and Athens (ATH)
For business class, you definitely want the A380 if possible. The business class seats have much more privacy, plus there’s a bar/lounge on the A380 to hang out in.
You can transfer American Express, Capital One, Chase, Citi & Bilt points directly to Emirates.

Our route
We needed a flight to get as close to Kenya as possible for a safari I had booked. When Thrifty Traveler sent out an alert about business class from 105K points (one way) Toronto to Dubai booked via Air Canada. And then I saw we could add a small additional amount of points to book Denver – Toronto (on Air Canada plane) – Dubai (on the Emirates A380) all in business.

The outstanding service on board
When we got to our seats, there were only a few other people in the business class cabin. But the steward Faubian was already welcoming people, introducing himself, HELPING with bags and just radiated happiness. I knew this was going to be a great flight. He wasted no time in getting the welcome drink tray ready and passing out drinks to people as soon as they sat.
After the fastened seat belt sign went off, my husband and I headed back to the bar area to get some videos/photos content and a drink. The attendant manning the bar was so fun and so generous with taking photos. And since we were back there while food orders were taken, another attendant sought us out to grab our dinner order.
I honestly think, no matter how awesome the plane, the attendants can really put your experience over the top and make a great flight amazing. And the attendants on this flight definitely did that.
Food on Emirates A380

I chose to sleep through breakfast. I loved that you could get sandwiches, chips and sweets in the lounge any time. They are sitting out which is so convenient.
Emirates PAJAMAS!! & Amenity Kit
Since our flight was over 9 hours, they handed out pajamas. They are SO soft, a light blue color. They also hand out matching slippers (high quality!) and eye masks. Plus the amenity kit was stocked with so much good stuff!

Emirates Business class – in my top 5
If you ever get the opportunity to book Emirates business class, I highly recommend it. Without points, a flight like this would cost over $5K per person – meaning over $15K for our family of 3!! Using points to experience this level of luxury is something that never stops amazing me.
If you are ready to start earning transferable points for flights like this, these cards are my top recommendations
