Meeting Minimum Spend for Credit Card Welcome Offer
Sometimes minimum spends can seem intimidating.
I think it’s often easier to look at the necessary spend by month.
If you need to spend $4K in 3 months, that breaks down to $1333/month.
Anything you can pay with a credit card WILL count towards hitting that minimum spend.
**The annual fee you get charged does NOT count towards minimum spend.
Recently I need to hit a large minimum spend and here are 3 things I did:
- I had a hotel stay that was not with points, but the stay wasn’t for a few more months. I emailed the hotel and asked if I could go ahead and pay now (keeping the cancelation policy in tact – just in case). And they were absolutely fine with that. They sent over a secure payment request and I was able to prepay our stay.
- If you end up owing on your taxes most years, it’s actually super simple to make estimated tax payments with a credit card.
- Took a look at monthly subscriptions I have to see which ones I could pay annually.
