London Family Trip with Points
Summer 2025 my family spent 4 nights in London. We used points for our hotel stay, making this an incredible vacation for very little out of pocket.
London Vacation using Points
This vacation was part of a larger vacation, with London being sandwiched between 2 other cities. Here was our overall itinerary
- Denver to Mallorca, Air France business class with points (42K points each)
- 4 nights in Mallorca at Aimia Hotel, paid out of pocket (not points)
- Mallorca to London, British Airways economy class with points (6500 points each)
- 4 nights at the Park Hyatt London River Thames, using points (25K points/night + a suite upgrade award so we could fit 3 in our room)
- Eurostar from London to Paris, paid out of pocket
- 2 nights at the Paris Hyatt Vendome, using points (45K points/night + a suite upgrade award so we could fit 3 in our room)
- 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency Paris, using points (18K points/night + a suite upgrade award so we could fit 3 in our room)
- Paris to JFK, JetBlue Mint with points (60K points each)
- JFK to Denver, Delta, paid out of pocket
Park Hyatt London Points vs. Cash Cost
We used 100K points + a suite night upgrade award for our FOUR nights here. With Hyatt award stays, you pay $0 for taxes/resort fees. Which is absolutely incredible.

Without points, our 4 night stay would have cost $5500+.
Park Hyatt London Globalist Benefits
During our visit, we were lucky to have Hyatt’s top level of status, Globalist. This meant that breakfast was included with our stay. Breakfast was in their main restaurant, The Nine Elms Kitchen. There was a large buffet with pastries, fruit, juices, charcuterie, salads and breads. This alone would have been more than enough. But we were also able to order a hot item from the menu. Each morning I also ordered a cappuccino with vanilla syrup (heavenly!). This was all included thanks to having Globalist status.

We also received a welcome note with a fruit platter. I believe the option for a 4:00 check out would also have been available, but we left before check out time so we didn’t use this benefit.
Park Hyatt London Review
This hotel was less than a year old when we stayed here and it was absolutely gorgeous. Everywhere you look, there is a beautiful detail, with gorgeous wall moldings and wallpaper in the closet. This absolutely feels like a luxury hotel. From the beautiful rooms…

To the gorgeous lobby, bar, humongous pool, and well equipped gym:

This hotel is stunning and it was a massive privilege to stay here on points. The only negative is that it is about a 20 minute walk from most of the sites. Some days we walked that, because London is lovely to walk. Sometimes we took public transportation. There are 2 tub stations in less than 10 minute walk – Vauxhall and Nine Elms. The Uber boat pick up was also just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. So for me, the location wouldn’t deter me from staying here again.
Tours & Tips for Visiting London
BEST TOUR:
All 3 of us agreed, our #1 favorite tour in London was the Tally Ho group bike tour led by James.
BEST DINNER:
Dishoom – Chicken Ruby
BEST TIP:
If you are in the middle of a big trip and need laundry done, we used I Hate Ironing and had a great experience. They picked our bag of laundry up from the hotel concierge and within 24 hours dropped it back off. Easy as could be!
COOLEST HOTEL FEATURE:
One super cool feature of the hotel that anyone staying at the hotel has opportunity to access is the “house car”. It will take you anywhere in a 3 mile radius, can fit 3 total passengers and during our stay was a BMW i7. It is first come first serve. We took it to dinner one night and had to wait about 20 minutes for our turn. Worth the wait 🙂
DOWNTIME IN LONDON:
The concierge told use the Park Hyatt London’s pool is the largest in London! I highly recommend taking a mid-day break here and enjoying it. Plus there is a sauna in each (mens’ & women’s) locker room.
Points for Park Hyatt London Stay
One reason I’m obsessed with Chase points is because they transfer to Hyatt (here’s a step-by-step if you aren’t sure how). Which can get you some of the BEST value for your points.
My go to card for earning Chase points, that is always in my wallet, is my Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. I use this card to earn 3x on dining, online grocery (excludes Target & wholesale clubs) and select streaming.
Then I stack that with my $0 annual fee Chase Freedom Unlimited®. I love this card because it earns 3x at drugstores (and dining), PLUS 1.5x on everything, unlimited.
