Find Award Flights Quickly
Seats.aero is my favorite tool for searching award flights.
With the free subscription, you can search 2 months of flights and use many of the site’s special tools.
I have the pro subscription (which I believe is $10/month). To me, it’s 100% worth the fee.
Because seats.aero is the 1st place I look for award tickets, I want to show you some of my favorite features.
And no, sadly, this post is not sponsored in any way. I just hope that you’ll find this information helpful 🙂
FOLLOW THE DEAL, NOT THE DESTINATION
If you’ve been earning credit card points/miles for a while, I’d be shocked if you haven’t heard this term.
People will ask me, How do you choose where to vacation next?
And the answer is almost always, I just followed the deal.
And this feature on seats.aero helps me do that…

Once on the home page, I simply select “search”.
The Origin Airport & the Destination Airport fields are how I find the “deal”.
The creator of seats.aero has clumped some regions together, so you can search entire regions.
To find the multi city search codes, select “view supported multi-city codes” right above the departure date.
EUR – Many large European cities
JAP – HND, NRT, KIX, ITM in Japan
SAS – SIN, KUL, BKK, SGN, HAN for Southeast Asia Large Airports
EST – Several of the large airports on the US East coast
And there are many others. That is just a few examples.
Because this is how you find the DEAL!
You want to go Rome but the cheapest flight is to Florence? No big deal. Fly to Florence, take a train.
You want to go to Japan but the cheapest flight is to Seoul South Korea, no big deal. Take the cheap flight to Seoul and then find a cheap flight to Japan (it’s only a 2 hour flight!).
SEARCH THE AIRLINES YOU LOVE
We are an Air France family. Why? Because if you can be flexible, you can almost always find a great deal on Air France. And since we are find to “re” position to a different city in order to find the best business class award fares, this tool helps us find the “deals” on Air France…

I love that you can sort by economy, premium economy, business or first.
Flights with green backgrounds are non stop. Flights with blue backgrounds have a stop.
And this is truly just the tip of the iceberg for features on seats.earo.
At the very top of the site, click on “Tools” to help you search for very specific award seat options – like the “Delta One Finder” which will help you find Delta flights to Europe on Virgin Atlantic for WAY cheaper than the Delta award price (tip: once you run that search, put “50,000) into the search box on the right to narrow down the searches to Europe, Lima & Bogota.
**It’s important to know… seats.aero doesn’t search all airlines OR all routes. So while it’s always a part of my search, it isn’t the only part. And you will need to confirm award flight availability with the airline as the seats.aero search results are not real time (usually a couple hours or days old).

Many years ago we visited Greece and absolutely fell in love with it. We always hoped to return one day. Then as I was searching for vacations for this summer, I found an amazing deal on Air France home from Athens. And boom – we followed the deal. Greece is always a good idea 😉
