How to get The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card

Unfortunately you can’t directly apply and receive this card. But the work around is easy! After holding the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card for one year, you can call Chase and simply ask them to PRODUCT change your Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card to The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card.

What is super cool about this is, when you product change you keep the “history” on your card (always helpful for credit scores) and there is no hard pull to your credit.

The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card benefits

This card has a $450 annual fee, but I find the benefits well outweigh that. Here are my favorites:

Annual 85K Marriott free night certificate. You can top off Marriott cards with up to 15K Marriott points meaning you could potentially use this certificate for a night that costs up to 100K points. This is my favorite perk of this card and we often use it to stay in hotels that would cost $800+/night.
$300 annual travel credit. I like that this card isn’t tied to one specific airline. And there’s a lot of freedom in how to use it. The $300 travel credit that can be used for checked bag fees, seat selection fees, lounge day pass or annual lounge membership, seat upgrades, inflight entertainment/food/drinks. **This credit is not automatic. You’ll charge the expense to your card, then either call or send an email to alert them to this charge and have it credited. It’s easy to do and only takes a few minutes.
Excellent travel protections when you use this card to purchase travel.

This is my favorite benefit of holding this card. Every single year, you’ll get an 85K Marriott free night certificate – which you “can” top off with up to 15K Marriott points. I have found with some flexibility, you can get incredible value from this certificate.

My Take

My husband and I both have The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card. Between the 85K Marriott free night certificate and the $300 credit, this is a keeper for us. And since we both have this card, we can often book a weekend stay at a super luxurious Marriott property by each using our certificate.
