Between the travel portal credit & the annual 10K points you get every anniversary- the $395 annual fee is a wash.
One thing to keep in mind, this is a pay-in-full card, meaning your balance is due in full every month.
Hitting the Minimum Spend
Here are some of the things I’ve done to hit large minimum spends:
- Pay taxes/estimated taxes with your card (there is a fee, but the welcome offer points more than offset that)
- Contact your insurance company and set up to pay home owner’s insurance directly instead of rolled into your mortgage
- Pay car insurance
- Prepay subscriptions
- Instead of paying monthly installments on child’s sports – pay lump sum
- If you have any paid hotel stays coming up, contact them and ask to pay now
